In the world of mommy-hood and baby time...
There's many ups and downs, i'm realizing. When it's 2:45 in the morning, my heart isn't as glad as say...when it's 2:45 in the afternoon. Lilyan and I are learning together, how exciting family can be.
By the way, Lilyan was born!
Haha....forgot to even mention that. I actually totally forgot for a minute i had a blog too. It's been awhile. I've been tired. It's been busy.

**she was tiny. Tinsy weensy tiny. It turns out my due date was off and we ended up with a preemie baby and not a full term girl. They wanted to induce me at 38 weeks gestation due to low amniotic fluid, so they did...Buuuuut, when Lily came out, the doctors first words were, "look at this peanut!." Tiny girl. Tiny body. Very pretty. She was probably around 36 weeks, and some parts of her body were a bit under developed, but she's doing GREAT now. She is in her 3rd week of life and has already gained weight; bringing her to 5lbs 13oz. Still very small, but thriving well.
We went into her pediatrician today because of acid reflux being a possibility...which it probably is. Smaller babies who are les mature tend to be more vulnerable to these kinds of troubles. She gets gassy and irritable easily, so she was prescribed Zantac for her bity heart burn, and we're hoping it helps during the mid night sessions :)
It's been a HUGE learning experience, being mommy and daddy. It's so different. Everything has changed. It's a new season, and we're trying hard to have joy in this adjustment in our lives as it is taxing on your used to be 8-9 hours restful nights which turn into 2 hours at a time every few hours, if you're blessed :)

Baby COUNT DOWN!
Oh my goodness, guys!
It's almost baby time!!
Only 16 days until my due date!
There's a possibility we may opt for induction at 39 weeks while my mom is here. I have mixed feelings about it. I've gotten a lot of weary comments from others who are not favorable, but i don't want those comments to affect the way i feel about anything in my pregnancy. Healthy baby's are delivered all the time by induction. Sure it's not when "she" initiates her descent, but the hospital only allows you to go past your due date by 1 week- leaving you at 41 weeks, anyways. Then you get induced. I've gotta face it, i'm going to have a relatively small baby, but she'll be very healthy. She is already; her heart beat is strong and shes growing and i feel just so ready! Not to mention i have some nice progress; 1 cm dilated, 50% effaced and have already seen some show.
Here's my reasoning for the 1 week early induction:
My mom will be here 1 week before my due date (feb 2) and one week after my due date which is feb 9th. If baby doesn't come in that time, it will be a very sad time as my mom doesn't get to see the precious gift of her first grand daughter. So...we're praying about it. I talked with Mike about it and we think (if all is well and baby is NOT affected negatively by the process) that we want to induce while my mom is here, toward the beginning (feb 4th) so that baby and Grammi get to meet.
Is that selfish?
Should i feel guilty? I know that in feeling guilt, that would be in part my conscience, but i shouldn't let my conscience be persuaded by others thoughts, but by the spirit of God, Himself. My sister in law is all for it though, and very supportive, which is so helpful because shes a mom herself, a nurse, and just a big part of my pregnancy. The induction would take place 5 days before her due date, so that's not that bad.
I feel mostly good about it, but part of me is having trouble i think because i'm a people pleaser, and i want to make others happy too.
Most of all- We want whats best for the baby.
Please pray with me friends.
Either way- it'll be no more than 23 days until i get to see my daughter, kiss her face, and smell her sweet baby aroma. I recently bought a truck load of diapers from diapers.com. The mega load, ya'll! I'm set up for a little while, most definitely....
and all things are coming together. My sweet hubby is downstairs now painting the rooms and the carpet people from Lowes come tomorrow to install the carpet in Lilyan's room!!
Also, online i bought a cherry blossom tree wall decal item for Lily's room. it's beige, and comes in 104 pieces which means that i can arrange them in the shape i want. It will be amazing! Her room is three walls "Art Deco Pink" which is a very soft, girly pink, with one very rich chocolaty accent wall. The tree will go on her dark wall, with all of her white furniture against the pink walls. :) Our theme is pink and brown. <3<3<3

Bakers Delight!
Today I decided to experiment with some puff pastry dough. You know, that yummy, pre-made flaky dough that you find in the frozen section at your local grocer- yes! I decided i'd make some mini marshmellow and semi-sweet chocolate chip flaky, golden puffs. And so i did. And though the marshmellow sorta seeped out during the actual baking process, it still left a yummy satiny, chocolate crisp. :-) Enjoy this time with me.
Fisrt: I gathered my items, and layed my dough to thaw on a floured surface for 40 minutes or until pliable.

And then i started to cut the dough to the size i wanted them.
Next, i took my egg wash (1 beaten egg with a bit of water) and coated the sides of each mini pastry sheet to ensure a good seal during baking, along with adding my little dose of yummy flavors.
After each coating, i took my forky fork and crimped the sides (which ended up rather un crimped at the end, but it was fun, and sealed my dough well)
Doing about three at a time, i got done faster...and had 12 in total, which all needed an extra coating of the egg wash on top to give me that lovely golden glow.
Then i baked them for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
And ended up with a cookie sheet full of delicious, bite sized goodies.
Which made this little plate look absolutely fabulous!
And OF COURSE, had to taste them for myself, as well as share with my husband who'd been working hard taping the ceiling for the future kitchen painting...
And so we tasted...
And enjoyed....
And then i continued my personal study of APERTURE and SHUTTER SPEED.
It's been a great day.

Growing baby....waiting mommy and daddy!
Loving the sweet growth of our Lilyan... I will be 34 weeks on tuesday, which is NOT far from our due date!

Though she has less amniotic fluid, and is of a greater size in my womb these days, making her sweet rolls quite uncomfortable....She's the best reward a mommy could look forward to!

Bellies a growin'
'Tis the season for talk about baby bellies. While my friend Tasha is in labor in the hospital pushin' like a champion, i'm sure...My baby belly happily grows with a little tiny gift of a little girl inside, whose got the hiccups :) Here's my "Christmas Belly" pictures for your enjoyment!
